I look at Cambridge and think sie is rather cute, but try to shake it off. After all I am in love with Bassarov and just slept with him, I don't need to have two relationships. I gather up my books and head off to class.

"We could all go out together for dinner. I am famished and I would be able to tell you about our upcoming meeting." I suggest to John and Nea.

I wake sometime in the middle of the night, still seated at the desk where I fell asleep. I yawn and move over to the bed. The entire room seems larger and darker than when I fell asleep. Maybe I have become smaller.

"I don't care what you think. You are going to do as I say."
"I was thinking, we could...all start dressing the same. I like black, I think we should all start wearing black. Starting from now, those not in black will be expelled."
"I'm not being "whimsicle" and you have no right to say that. I am the one with the most vision. It is only natural that I have a say in things."
"We need more money. A kidnapping. Let's kidnap someone with money and either hold them hostage or brainwash them into joining us."
"Fine, brainwashing is a strong word. Behavior modification based on a new process of thought."
"Either way we need money. Who are our options?"
"Not him. He would be a real pain in the ass. Someone easier. He would just be a liability."
"I know you know who I am talking about."
"Maybe. Whatever. That sounds fine, just don't do anything that compromises our secrecy."
"To the Symbionese Liberation!"
"Death to the fascist insect that preys upon the life of the people!"
Nothing that they said to me really mattered anyway, so if you were wondering, don't.
They don't matter.

When Cambridge wakes up, Selja has gone to class. Sie yawns and takes a shower. Sie decides to see if Sakari has returned from the meeting and if so if he can tell hir anything about it. Sie leaves the room and walks to Sakari's.

"No, my real name isn't Hearst. It represents something incomplete. It is the coming full circle. We could not be defeated by history."
The soldiers have been dispatched and soon they should return with someone. We need money. We need to build our operation for the creation of Symbia.
After the orders have been given, I pace around our complex. I am so impatient, I need to have more faith in them.
"Maybe we should all change our last name to Hearst. It is a sign of solidarity. It is a sign of the coming full circle and how this movement is organic. It lives and breathes. It has be reincarnated. We were all Patty Hearst, people held hostage by society. The SLA liberated her from that hostage situation. We need to start liberating people again."

All the bags were packed, everyone had been told. Two weeks of performance. James sighed, tours were always tiring.
Going out the door the phone rang.
"Hi its Alf," James was ready to cry, what did his sub-editor want now? "James the ED wanted me to tell you to try and get an interview with Lan Zheng-Lafleur."
"Why me?" He replied. "Because you managed to save that interview with Mr. Larson, and you'll be in the country." James' eyes rolled in his head. "I'll try but don’t expect any miracles, I must go now, I'll call when i get back." He didn’t even wait for his sub to say bye, just hung up.
Ugh, now he had to do an Interview. He doubted that he'd even got time to see his family, not to mention getting an Interview with the UN secretary general.
James picked up his bags and left the apartment. Ireland beckoned.

I wake up, but will not have any meetings until the later afternoon. I decide to take a walk since I have been under such stress as it is. I walk through the city, trying my best to clear my mind.

The train comes to a stop in Billings, Mt. I get off the train into a dusty city in the hills. The air is dry. I almost choke on it.
"So now what?"
I start wandering through the city looking for something to do or destroy.

I help the missionary family do the dishes. I am not good and English and they are not good at Spanish, so I can not ask them all of the things I would like to know. I wonder why they are here. The children read from the bible after their chores are done. They are very devout and protestant I found out. Are they trying to make us protestant too?

The diplomats themselves are in meetings, and I will have little to do personally with the actual talks. It is more of an official thing than actual work. I reinterate the view of the United Nations, give some speeches, take some photos, do some interviews, and let the diplomats handle the rest. I shouldn't be as stressed as I am. I, as a person, as Secretary General, will have very little to do with this. But, I am a symbol of internationalism. I am the mouth of the UN. The outcome reflects back on me.

The SLA soldiers move towards their target. I am not sure if it is a wise idea to bring him here. I warned them against it. He will be a nuissance more than anything else, but I suppose if he is, we can just shoot him.
I wait for their return, trying to decide which black barret to wear. I pick the larger, knit one of my three choices.
The compound is quiet, people are keeping to themselves and to their work. This is just the way it is supposed to be. Working together. Living in symbiosis.
