Antero takes a walk through Helsinki. Outwardly the city appears clean and healthy. The standards of living are high, unemployment is low, and Finland has managed to hold on to many of its social programs. But there is some invisible sickness here. People work, people shop, but everyone looks empty. They pass through the streets, their mind full of what they plan to buy. A new car, what's for dinner, that nice apartment, some designer Finnish furniture. They talk nonesense into their Nokias. Everyone has become souless shells. They are empty consumers, zombies feasting to maintain the outward appearance of life. He hungers for something more than mobile phones and nice furniture. But he is always left empty. Society wants to kill off everyone who hungers for more. Social awareness is a slow starvation.
Next week is the big anarchist meeting. He already asked for the time off and is excited about the whole thing.

I lean against the side of the BMP as the young Russian walks up. I am itching for a cigarette, but I never smoke in combat. I am somewhat put off by being told to stay out of the way, so I watch the battle from where I am.

"Thank you." I say as she gets the door for me. "I know. At least the socialists don't impose their opinion of private property on others."
We sit down at a table and I order myself some tea.
"It's good to see you as well, Joutsen." I feel a little more at ease now that we're away from everyone. She's not the politican anymore. "Things are great in Finland compared to how they are here... They need help. The conservatives are manipulative, and pushing everyone, including the greens, to the right."

"Refreshed as in we're pulling out, and they're sending in Zubatov." He replies finally, not looking up from his papers.
"Sir." I reply, nodding my head, and turn to the Japanese woman.
"Was that you who came in on the Hind?" I ask, noticing an endless line of vehicles driving up the same road that we came from.

"I think America is hopeless. The Green party will never get ahead in this two party system. Their only hope is to adopt the superior European parliamentary democracy model." I reply in a typically euro centric fashion.
"Thank the Gods that this country is faltering. The future is Europe. We can only hope that it falls gracefully. However, Canada is doing well. Perhaps they can pick up the slack here in North America. They always have been the more environmentally responsible one. I say we forget the United States and turn our attention to the more sensible Canadians."

"Yes. I was sent to evaluate your unit, but it appears I am too late. Washington and Moscow are currently cooperating for a couple counterterrorisim operations, and your unit was one of those selected to participate."

"What? Us?" I ask, looking between the CO and Zero.
"I just found out myself." He says, annoyed, and still not looking up from his paperwork. "Where are the others?"
I look up and see the rest of the recalled members, and a few trucks drive past us, and park nearby. The soldiers file out, and run towards the building that we occupy.
The CO stands up, and exits the APC, standing before us all. We stand at attention.
"Okay good. We are going back to Moscow and are partaking in joint counter-terrorism operations with the Americans. We leave immediately." He turns to Rei.
"You will meet us back in Moscow at our barracks, we can address this there, understood?"

"Yes, that's understood." I reply. "Now if you'll excuse me I need to get my own forces around." I salute, turn and walk back to the helicopter. As we take off I call Kolov, who sends orders to the Army chielf of staff. He sends out orders to the Green Beret A-team headed by Captain Price.
(Post to Cpt. Price)
The orders going to the A-team are to board Air Force transports for immediate transport to Moscow via Ramstein, and once their to report to Air Force Major Usagi.

septimus wakes up in the back of a small car, bleeding and in shock. the car comes to a screetching halt, pushing septimus into the two seats in front of him.
the driver and passenger grab septimus by the shoulders and carry him into the clinic.
"agh, fuck, watch it, i can walk..." septimus says, pulling himself to his feet, but one of his legs hurts too bad to even stand on it. he collapses to one knee, and the others grab him by the shoulders again and lead him to a bed.
"They'll help you here. We're going to get the others." the men tell septimus, and rush back out the door before he can respond.
septimus lays down on the bed and waits for someone to tend to him.

"You should not swear. It is impolite and the tongue should be used for praises and prayer." Aslan says to Septimus as he calls a doctor over to tend to his wounds.

septimus doesn't know how to respond, so he decides not to.
"haven't seen you in awhile..." he says, feeling somewhat light headed. septimus lays his head down on his pillow, still bleeding but not knowing or really caring where from.
"hey you remind me of that guy... on the bbc..." septimus says, beginning to get a little delirious from the loss of blood.

Aslan smiles. "I may have been on the BBC. Some reporters spoke to me just last week. Some people are shy about talking to them, but I think it helps for people to know what's going on here."
"Get up, you can't stay here at the hospital. It is too crowded as it is. You are well enough to go home."

The men file into the APC, and we head to the nearby airport, and from there, file into a cargo plane and make the flight back to Moscow. The men are much more jubilant and alive now, flying away from the warzone, and making some insensitive remarks about the attack on the apartment building.
I pay no mind, and we are soon in Moscow on the barracks. I immediately retreat to my room and lay on my stomach on the bed, staring at the wall, and wondering if I should call Tanya to tell her I'm okay.

"okay." septimus replies after being patched up. he sits up, and jumps off the edge of the bed. the instant his foot touches the ground, a sharp stabbing pain runs up his leg and he collapses.
"ah fuck..." septimus says, holding his leg.

Aslan is mild mannered, never using foul words or speaking ill against someone, even an enemy. He cringes once again as Septimus swears, but says nothing. Instead he helps Septimus up out of bed and towards the door. "I'm sorry but so many others are injurred. You will be fine."
