'Shit' Nea thought to herself. 'That was my last chance to escape the protest. They just arent' my style, and they make me so nervous.' She sighed and she stood. 'Well if we are suppose to be going, I guess that's where I'm headed. Not like i have any other choice.' Nea didnt' know why she talked to herself like that, but it made her feel a little better.

Bassarov spends the day with his Irish comrades in final discussions with the IRA. Things appear futile, but he remains hopeful. When the talks have ended he is invited over to the apartment of one of the less novice socialists for a short get together. There they talk politics late into the night.

"If you don't feel comfortable with this Nea, you don't have to participate. You can just sit in a cafe and watch until its over." Antero says as he walks past her, noticing that she seems uncomfortable.

Nea looked up, she felt like a wimp now, but nodded anyway. That's what she would probably end up doing. She stood up and went near to where the protest would be at, and looked around. There was a cafe there and she ordered a cup of tea and sat by the window. Sighing she stared out. 'Yeah anarchy, your no anarchist.' nea scolded herself.

A bomb exploded in a car garage in St Petersburg, killing Estonian and Russian officials who were meeting there to discuss a border dispute. Russians blame Chechen terrorists for the bombing...
In other news today is Easter, a holiday which celebrates the universal themes of hope, renewal, spring, and the miraculous resurrection of Jesus Christ, the son of the one true God, who died for all of our sins...."

Heikki feels weak with hunger and goes to sit in a crowded cafe. It is so crowded that he ends up sitting across from Nea who he overheard was having some doubts about going to the protest.
"Protests are fake anyway. Nothing will change. To change things you must make change yourself, not parade around asking for it."

Nea was somewhat startled. "You have a good point. But....I'm not quite comfortable in that type of setting."

Switzer wakes up after napping for a few hours. He opens his eyes but does not feel well rested. He tursn to Capulet and feels somehow annoyed by him. "This person can not be for real"He thinks to himself. He doesn't spend much time thinking about the British capitalist. Instead he turns to Frederick and then Eva, waiting for something to happen.

"Time for headlines. The Americans have split the country in half and are now marching southward towards Damascus, while the British are still having trouble marching north. Right wing anti-government protests in Germany have ended with hundreds arrested. All Russian and Estonian officials who were meeting over border disputes at a hotel in St. Petersburg were killed or wounded in an explosion. While there is no concrete evidence, the Russian authorities are blaming it on the Chechens..."

"I don't hate protests, but they are a waste. I want some significant change and that can only be accomplished through violence and destruction."

"I see a violent type. That isn't the answer to everything, but I will say that in some situation it is the only answer." Nea tried to say with confidence. "Some people just need the shit beat out of them. A lot of times violence doesn't lead to anything good, just more anger and more violence."

The five DFLP members arrive in Tehran later in the evening. Their Iranian supporters put them up in a world class hotel. This is the first time that Malik has ever stayed in a place like this. This makes him feel even more intimidated. He goes to his private room but feels nervous about the meetings tomorrow. He is offended by the luxury around him. It offends his moral senses and seems somehow ugly to him. He wonders why his comrades even agreed to stay at this place. Is it some kind of class betrayal or something? He doesn't leave his room all night. While the others are drinking and enjoying themselves, he hides out, paralyzed by anxiety and self doubt.

"I can see the limits of violence. If there is going to be violence, it has to be on such a scale that the world is never the same again. Pebbles topple giants only in the myth of religion." Heikki replies to her. He is feeling more social than he normally does. He feels vulnerable.

"I might be offended by that," Nea said in a flat tone of voice. "But then again, you are entitled to your own opinion. It wasn't the pebble that toppled the giants it was faith in God. But then again, to you they are only myths."

Post by Aslan Shamil on Mar 27, 2005 21:21:16 GMT -5
The meeting with the other rebels is concluded and a new plan of attacks is decided upon. Aslan returns to Septimus' apartment. He has been staying there a lot ever since he broke his leg. He sits in the living room and watches that same old television, with that familiar green tinted screen. The Russians are blaming a recent attack in St Petersburg on the Chechens. This upsets Aslan, since in this case, they were not involved, and now they will have to deal with another Russian retaliation.
