I spend hours talking to the Syrian Prime Minister. Our talks yield very little. I explain to him that there are few options available outside of UN support. If he does not accept our help, Syria will fall under U.S. control within the next few weeks. The government will be toppled. Syria will be occupied. There is little that his small country can do against the invading countries.
I explain to him that the UN supports Syria and would like to end this conflict with his cooperation, but that if he spends too long deliberating, we will not be able to act soon enough to make a difference. The American lead invasion in illegal and I stand firmly against it.
I lay out his options, our commitment to aid Syria, and ask that he make his decision before it is too late.

*Awhile ago*
"Nice to meet you Nea, my name's Shurochka, but you can call me Shura for short." I shake Nea's hand, and smile. "
*Now*
I sit quietly and observe the others, and am immediately amused with these anarchists. They're so much more interesting than those I went to school with.
"Yeah I don't know how 'being above food' is an epiphany. That just sounds boring." I say, then shrug my shoulders.
"Ah well, I say potato... He says oatmeal. And vitamins."

"I just hope he doesn't get sick. It is unhealthy, but I am not against it. It seems a sort of asceticism, and I respect him for that. An ascetic lifestyle does give way to a deeper understanding of life." I reply to Shura.
"I find beauty in asceticism. For instance, I don't eat sugar and meat, refrain from sex and relationships, will not wear flashy or attractive garments, and do my best to avoid all mind and mood altering chemicals, including caffeine and chocolate."

"That makes me so mad..." Sakari says, but somehow just doesn't give off a convincing anger. He approaches one of those who were chanting 'no violence' and tells her what he thinks.
"Yeah, they probably are." She says as though it were no big deal. "Wait, what? Why can't we do anything about this?" "Because nobody will listen. The best we can do is seperate ourselves from them."
The thought has some merit, but Sakari is too pissed off to consider this notion yet.
"There has to be something we can do..." I say to Cambridge.

"Am I the only normal person around? I don't see the point of denying yourself something good. Life sucks too much as it is, why make it harder by denying yourself what little good there is in the world." Antero says. He checks the time and sees that his shift is done.
"There I'm done. At least I got that window patched."

"I don't know Sakari. Things are a mess here. There are already large groups of people telling the others to cool it. It seems out of our control right now. If I find out more info I could write about the incident in our magazine, but things have gone too far to turn them back now."

"Well I can see the merit in it. I tried to give up meat for awhile, but just couldn't do it. I have a lot of respect for anyone who can pull something like that off, don't knock it unless you've tried it." I tell Antero.
"Although I don't know him very well, I somehow doubt his sincerity... It seems as though he came in here to tell us all that he was cutting food out of his life to convince himself more than to convince us. Or maybe to get a reaction out of us."

"For an anarchist you are kind of upity, Shura. You might want to change that. I hate condescending intellectuals. Anarchy isn't real unless injustice that taints you inside to the very marrow of your bones. But I guess you and Salome don't get that. It is an intellectual exercise to you or something." Antero says as he puts on his jacket. He turns to Salome and Shura. "I think you're both fakes." With those final words, he leaves the pizza place and heads home to his apartment.

"Yeah you're right, there's probably not much that we can do..." Sakari replies, now more resigned.
"Let's go see how the rest of the protest is faring."

"Yeah maybe I can interview some people or take some photos. Let's get in closer to some of the action." Cambridge leads Sakari through the crowds and snaps some photos of police violence. Sie starts asking people questions of how the protest turned violent and if they have noticed anything out of the ordinary.

I close my eyes and wrap my arms around her. "I love you too..." I whisper caught in the passion of the moment, and kiss her back.

"That was just a little rude." I say to Shura after Antero leaves.
"I try very hard to be more than just an intellectual. I work at a factory, I deny myself the things that the working class would not have, I.. work very hard to be genuine, but somehow it always comes off as fake."

Sakari follows Cambridge around, helping hir ask questions. Two cops in full riot gear approach.
"You looking to cause trouble?" He asks, night stick in hand. "No sir, just asking questions." I respond. "I think you two should come with us." "Why's that?"
One man hits Sakari in the stomach, and the other cuffs him. They turn to Cambridge.
"Are you going to resist arrest too?"
