I sit up, feeling numb from local anesthetics, but a lot better. "Well sie's right. Man, I feel terrible..."

I hear the Camero pull up, and can instantly tell that the timing is off and that it needs a new muffler, but I have been listening to Chevys my entire life. I get up from under the car I was working on and fish a cigarette out of my shirt pocket as I walk up to the newcomer. "Good morning. Something I can help you with?"

"You can't be serious all the time, you know? Get drunk, watch a movie, listen to a story about bunnies! Something fun! Life is all about happyness! Sakari is just trying to help you out in his own, sweet way. He probably digs you anyway. I don't know, im just saying! Have you ever been high on a pain killer, Camy? Its fun!"
I realize that I am high, but I shouldn't have said hal the things I did. Especialy that part about Sakari digging hir. But, i can't help myself. It just all spills out.

"Ah, yes, hello." I say, taken aback by the fact that she's a woman. "I ah, my father, I mean this is my father's car, and he just, he wanted me to have it looked at. Would you guys mind looking? At my car, my father's car? You guys, and girls?" I say, fumbling around. I clear my throat.

I raise an eyebrow, but I guess women mechanics aren't that common, even nowadays. "Well let me take a look, would you mind starting it back up?" I ask as I pop the hood and start looking.

"I don't think he is capable of attraction, he is too boyish and immature." Cambridge says as sie sits down in a vacant chair.
"I am just worried about things. Fascism in Germany, the injurries you guys have, the world..."

"Yeah, yeah..." I say, now somehow forgetting where I put my keys. I pat my pockets, but don't feel anything that would resemble my keychain. I then look on the ground as if I had dropped them, nope. Finally, in the corner of my eye, I find them dangling in the ignition.
"Ah... ha ha..." I say, trying to brush it off. I sit down into the driver's seat and turn the ignition.

"Yah, it all sucks. But complaining doesnt help, and niether does worrying."
I start to sing "Tomorow" really off key
"Boy, I loved Annie. You shouldn't worry about me, I can't feel a thing. It feels.. it feels like im floating. Its sweet!"
I swat at the air.
"Hey, you hear the one about the duck, Camy?"

"I guess everyone is alive, and thats enough a miracle. As for the fascists, I don't know. I haven't been able to contact a single socialist in Germany..."
"What about the duck, L?"

"Well, a duck walks into a drugstore and asks for some lipstick. He gets it and is asked ...im sure theres something about a monkey in here, i just can't remember... anyway, how hell pay for it. The duck shrugs and says 'just put it on my bill'!"
I laugh really long and hard.
"Get it? Bill! Lipstick, and the ducks.... wow! Funny stuff, hu? You know, he had this friend. It was a... a llama. It was sweet!"

After he starts the engine I listen carefully, fiddle with a few wires and cables, then I walk around to the backside of the car. I listen to and smell the exhaust for a second, then walk to his door. "Well it sounds like your timing's off, your number 4 cylinder is missing and your muffler is rotted away. I didn't check the bodywork yet, but that looks pretty sound from here. Now, you want to come inside and discuss your options?" I ask and drag my cigarette. Compared to the other two cars I have for the day this one will be easy...

"Yeah that's great. Ahem..." I say, stepping out of the car, leaving it running. "Oh, um, should I leave this running, or... Should I... I'll just, I'll just turn it off..." I say, and turn off the engine, taking out the keys.
I follow her into the garage, and scratch my head nervously. The garage is stuffy, really loud, and smells as you would expect a garage to smell. Not my type of environment.
"So, ah... About those options..." I say, my voice is drowned out to the ambience of the garage.
