"We came to visit some of the churches in the area. Some of them are affiliated (I guess) with ours. We might even do a sermon." Masha explained. She was pretty sure he wasn't religious, so she summed it up for him. Though, she was thinking about his comrades.
"I hope I am not keeping you from your comrades. I'm sure you can just give me a list of books or something and I can find a library with them. I really don't want to be a bother." Masha said, thinking he was hinting that he wanted to leave. She wouldn't really blame him if he wanted to. He probably had a lot more to do than teach some ignorant woman. Not that she was terribly ignorant, of course, but still...

"No no, this really is no problem! Really, not at all!" He goes inside his room and starts looking through his books. "Here's the one on Kollontai, and if you are interested in learning more about Lenin's wife, here is Krupskaya's memoirs of Lenin." Bassarov replies, handing her the two books.
"I was raised Russian Orthodox, but am no longer religious. It was interesting growing up in that. I do think it helped me to become a socialist."

Nea stands from the table. "Ehh, I'll see you guys later." she looked at the both of them and then smiles before heading toward the exit. "Unless you wanted to come with and check it out."

"Yeah don't get your hopes up, what with the reformist elements who are running it now." Marty replies, bitterly.
"Let's just head in here. I could use a drink. I hate politics." Marty says, pointing to a bar.

"What made you change you mind about God?" Masha asked, curious, as she took the books from him. She glanced over them, mentally picking out which one to read first. She then looked back up at him for a moment, then took her free hand and covered her mouth. She then winced.
"Oh, crap, that was nosy. You don't have to answer." Masha said. 'Crap' was probably the strongest cuss word she would use. She never really felt the need to curse. She looked back down at the books. "Sorry."

"Yup, I have to head into the Studio and see what's going on, and maybe see when I have to head in again. Maybe when pay day is coming up."

"Don't drink too much this time Marty. With your stature you've got to use moderation." Glen says as they enter the bar. He pats his friend on the shoulder and they take a seat.

"That's okay. Well there are many things with the church that I disagreed with. One was the sexual morality of the church and the heirachies. Another was the strict gender roles."
"However, I did agree with some things. The Russian Orthodox church stressed communal worship. We have a term called Sodovornost which is a communal spirituality. So rather than seeing spirituality as a personal path, we see it as something that should be pursued as a a community."
"I liked that sense of community and group spirituality."

"Nah, I've got to work, but you two have fun." Antero says to them both, then puts on his pizza visor and jacket.

"Yeah yeah... You're paying this time, I paid last time." Marty replies, heading inside the bar. They're blaring loud crappy music, and Marty's in one of his 'I hate everyone' moods again.

"No Antero you have fun. Catch you later," she says to him. She feels bad taht he sometimes has to go and work in hell, maybe she would get back to the apartment early and make dinner for him. He looked like he needed it anyway. "Ok well lets go," she looked over at Niko and smiled.

"Me pay? You always drink more. And what is this capitalist mindwash music they're playing."
"Oh my God- I- don't believe in, could this place be any more annoying?" Glen says loudly so everyone can hear.

Masha smiled slightly when he spoke of sexual morality. Well, they agreed on some things, though she wouldn't express that at the moment. She would sound as if she was..Anyway. She concentrated on what else he was saying.
"Do miss your community?" Masha asked, not sure if she had asked that before. She missed her family, but that wasn't really a community. She had never been close to a lot of people at home. Sure, she had friends, but she was always different from them is some ways. Not too different though, I guess. Masha thought.
