"Maybe I will tell you another time, sweetie." I say in a condescending tone, but don't mean to.
"I am not really atuned to flattery, so I suppose I don't notice it if guys are interested in me. I have only been in one relationship in all my life actually. Even that was cold and strained."

"Well unless we send in someone to dispose of Rommel a lot of people are going to die. So far Germany hasn't shown the expansionalist signs that it did in the 1930s, but most of our experts think that it's just a matter of time before it does. And at that point even if Israel backs down we are going to have problems." Since Bassarov is a Russian and I assume he knows his own history I don't have to tell him why.

I almost drop my cell phone into the tub when she says this.
Zhar sent men after you?! Ugh, I am sooooo upset. I am going to have a talk with him. No don't worry about it, I can handle this myself. Lysander will die, but I am going to make sure it is done right

"Well, I like a lot of things. I like to nibble on walnuts, and grapes mostly, I don't like eating meat, I think it's disrespectful to our Mother." Maria replies, and lowers her head at Zhar's following comment.
"I understand that Kaschei is busy all the time, and he needs his support..." Maria replies in a somber tone of voice.
"But I do my own things occasionally. I like to walk in the woods, and around our pond with the servants."

Bassarov has his own ideas on what should be done in Germany, but he doesn't feel like arguing. Instead he changes the the direction of the conversation. "Well hopefully this does not represent a larger trend towards the far right."
(yes, he left)

"Well we've also noted a lot of trends to the far left. It seems that the global balance of power is shifting, and society is polarizing as a result. I'm no politician, I just hope things balance out."

After I talk with Garret I walk back to my apartment and go through my pantry, selecting several cans of vegatables from the rest and setting them aside. I am not a very good cook, but it's hard to mess up stir-fry, and I want to have a decent meal when Cambridge gets home.

Bassarov laughs loudly. Then his voice becomes quiet. He pauses.
"I just hope we win."

"In this case I would agree that your ideals are the preferable ones." I state, and I'm a facist, although my beliefs are very much closer to the Italian version of facisim. "Let's just hope it never comes to that... So where are you going when you leave Venezuela?" I ask, trying to once again shift the conversation.

"I will leave in a few days I think. I want to see what happens here. What kind of order is restored." Bassarov replies.

Niko heads back into Antero's apartment after being gone for a few days. He kicks off his shoes, and walks into the other room with his bags.
"Hey sorry guys, I went to go visit the family. How has everyone been?" He says loudly into the apartment.
