"Sounds fun. Just give me your address." I say as I begin packing what I'll need for the next few days.

"I'm at my mother's for the weekend. But here's her address...."
" She is at a meeting right now, but she is real keen on you coming over for Easter."

"Good. I'll be over in oh, about half an hour." I say as I calculate the distance in my mind. See you then." I wait for him to say goodbye, then grab my small suitcase and get in my car (a sort of 25th century Chevette) and drive over. When I arrive I knock on the door.

The tator tot hotdish is cooling when Zero arrives.
"Okay, well I made it both with and without lima beans, because I know how some people just simply hate lima beans. Me, I think their kind of cute. Ha ha." He says as he lets Zero into the house and the kitchen.
The house looks perfectly wholesome and very clean.

I look around, somewhat in awe. I've seen large houses before, and seen castles in the Old World, but not like this. Most of those houses were either all fop or were decrepit with age. This is comfortably elegant. "I like lima beans. Nice house, does just you and your mother live here?"

"Pretty much. My dad lives in Finland where he runs his company. He is sometimes here, but usually only one week a month. That's why we like having company. We like to share what we have with others since its just the two of us." He replies.
"I would give you a tour but I kind of feel ashamed of all that we have. We have so many rooms that are unused and...well, we just have a lot more than most people. So, I won't give you a tour of the other floors. It would just be impolite."
He dishes her up some tator tot hotdish and some for himself as well.
"This turned out great. I am used to cooking since my mother works long hours."

"Thank you, and I don't need a tour if you don't want to give me one." I take a bite of the food. "Mmm, this is pretty good. What all's in it?" I ask.

"Tatortots, cream of mushroom soup, peas, lima beans, carrots, corn, and hamburger." He says with a twinkling smile.

"Mmm. Well if you ate military food for six months you'd also appreciate good cooking." I say. "So how'd your tournament go? I can play golf, but I'm not good at it."

"It's too early in the season for tournements, so right now we are just practicing. But that's going super! I think it will be a really great year."
He gets up after putting his dish away. "I should go brush my teeth. You can come too. I have a spare toothbrush and it is good to brush your teeth after every meal. It keeps away the tooth decay! Plus I'll let you use some of my Uncle Tom's Organic Toothpaste. That's how I get my teeth so clean and sparkly!"

"Anything beats baking soda and purified water." I say as I stand up and follow him.

"Wow, you must live a really hard life being in the military and having to go without. I really admire that. I have so much that I have become pretty soft and accustomed to having nice things." He says as he leads her to the bathroom. He opens up a new toothbrush for her and brushes his teeth.

"For most people it's not so bad, I sacrifice a lot of things simply because I don't need them. Thanks." I say as I start to brush my teeth. They are yellowed from smoke, but otherwise in very good shape.

"People don't need as much as they think they do." He says as he leads her to the entertainment room. "I've been to a lot of poor places in the world and it is amazing how little people really need to live and be happy."
