"There was a series of embassy bombings all around the world, primarialy in Middle Eastern nations, but the main problem is there was a tactical nuclear weapon detonated in downtown Manhattan. We have to respond in kind, but the politicians are too cowardly to do so. I'm expecting a call, and I may well have to leave when I get it." I say.

Earlier in the day there is a march of about 225,000 people against poverty. Antero takes part in it, but in later protests some people fight with the police and are arrested. For the rest of the day, Antero watches, feeling a little tired from the heat and from all of the people around him. He is not a people person. He starts looking around to see if Niiko is there as promised.

Damek is one of the anarchists arrested earlier in the protests. He is put in a cell which is crowded with other protestors. He is annoyed but keeps quiet.

Shura and I head to listen to some speakers. There are quite a few and all are pretty interesting.
There are a few socialist speakers and some from the Green Party as well.
Some of the more interesting people to listen to are those who have lost loved ones as the result of terrorism, but still speak out again the war on terror.
I think about the recent acts of terrorism and how easily it would be for those who have lost to blame the terrorists or muslims in general. So it is nice to see that even in the face of loss some people remain clear minded and compassionate even.

"You said you have to go soon?" I ask, a little curiously.
"Alright, should we just setup shop here for awhile? How long will you be gone?" I make a point not to ask where she's going, since if she could, or wanted to tell me, she would have already.

"I said I might be. I'm expecting a call from my commanding officer sometime today, and if I get it I'll probaly have to leave. I'm sorry but the rest of you would be stranded here in Russia, since I don't expect any of you could fly this bird."

What happened across the world with the American Embassy bombings and what happened in New York was actually a primer for something larger. All of this took years of careful planning and would with hope scar and scare America and its allies. As mentioned before, over 100 suitcase sized nuclear weapons went missing from Russia in the late 1990s. One of which was recently detonated in New York on the 4th of July near the Freedom Tours. Another now is in Scotland, with someone posing as a protestor.

"Of that I'm sure... Well maybe you can save me some embarressment..." I get into the wall locker and hand him a duffel bag, which has my PS3 and a number of games in it. "Just don't say who this belongs to."

Vance does not sit in on some of the sessions, since those are stictly for the president. He was invited along since Hayward secretly feels incapable of discussing foreign policy and international relations with his peers. His forte is domestic politics and his is apt to become tongue tied or make a fool of himself when he is asked difficult questions about American foreign policy. This is why he always feels more secure when Vance accompanies him.
Vance has other officials to meet with and spends the afternoon away from the Gleneagles Luxury hotel to do other business.

The protestors are kept away from the actual meeting. The closest they come is during a late afternoon parade which brings them at one point 200 meters from the hotel. Although there are fences and police, this is the closest that the protestors will come to the actual hotel where the leaders of the most powerful nations in the world are meeting. It is at this point that the explosive will be detonated, taking out the leaders, police, and protestors. The bomber stays in the middle of the crowd, not looking suspicious since there are protestors from all over the globe. And when the marchers meet that critical point, the bomber detonates the explosive....
