"Yeah I'm a Trotskyist. But I have no problem with other socialist parties, as long as no one is using their party for personal vendettas." I say. Sure it's not entirely true, but close enough as the only Maoists I have a problem with died some time ago...

"I am sorry to hear that." Seiji says and sits down beside her. He remains cool and somewhat distant from her, even though she seems friendly. Most women or people in general, are hostile and don't take well to his company. "I am not sure if you have met Rei, she is my sister. She is very dedicated to her work, but a little short tempered. She thinks that violence is the solution to all things. I am sure if I were not her brother, she would have punched me for some of the things I have said."
"I also know of Mischa who is a Russian soldier, and has about as much backbone as a banana slug. But he seems to be a good fellow. Good hearted."
"And then I also know of Sade. She is the head of a private body gaurd company. She is tough, assertive, and has charisma." He states.

"If you want to know the truth, I think that Trotskyists are petit bourgeois defeatists." I say with a smile.
"But don't take it personally." I touch his arm, then look into his eyes.

"That's too bad. I am sorry that things aren't working out for you and you can't find a guy. I hope you aren't lonely Hailey."

"Wonderful Calithin! This will be a great time. I should book us some tickets then. Shall we leave, say, this weekend? That way you don't have to worry about taking too much time off." I am glad that he has agreed to come along. Perhaps we can learn something from the Japanese on how we might transform our own society and scale back our own government.

"Sounds like a rather an interesting bunch to me. And yeah I know the whole 'power flows from the barrel of a gun' argument, and while it makes sense it is an awfully dour way to look at things." I say with a slight sigh. "What about yourself, are you a part of this outfit or did your sister put you up to this?"

"I don't..." I say, even if I do find the remark insulting. "But not all socialists are the same obviously. Even if we all do want the same thing."

"No, I am Kolov's professional errand boy. I do whatever he wants. He sent me to Russia to check up on Rei, and then to France to monitor events there. I do a lot of different tasks, but nothing very significant. Mainly reports and delivering messages." Seiji replies and yawns boredly. "If I had my choice in life, I would be a philospher or work in the field of philosophy." He informs her.

"That's true. If only we could work together. So many antagonisms between each other. But it is hard. We each have a different vision of how things are to be done."
"I firmly believe that someday we will get it right." I say to him and stare out the window for a moment.

We discuss the same counter terrorism legislation today at work. This can get a little tiresome. I much prefer traveling and meeting with other socialists, then sitting in on parliamentary discussion.
I daydream as the hours roll on. I think about Ilya, but also about my life and my past, and how I came here.
I leave the meetings and take the long way home, enjoying a pleasant walk by myself.

"Yes, someday." I sigh, knowing it true but knowing the price will be enormous. "Maybe we should go out for dinner together together when we're done with our work for the day."
