It's getting late so I head back to the hotel where the non injurred socialists have been staying. I go to my room and worry a little about Sakari but try not to.
I lay down but just can't get a wink of sleep.

"I have my own ride out of the country. I am going to Switzerland. It will be a nice change of pace. But before I forget, take this." Ivan opens up a suitcase and hands Sakari a wad of cash. "It is for your troubles with us and for the run. Sorry that you could not get the information you wanted. If ever I find anything out about the socialist leaders, I will tell you, but for now, I am going to be low for a long long time."

Sakari stuffs the cash into his pockets before counting how much it is, but it felt like a sizeable amount.
"Thank you, Ivan..." I say, patting him on the back. "Leave tonight."
With that, Sakari leaves and heads out the opposite direction of where Ivan was heading. He hops in a cab, and stops at the hospital.
"Wait here." I say to the cabbie. I run inside the hospital and ask them how much the bill is for Bassarov, Tom, and Lysander. I put down enough money to pay for about half of the entire bill, then run back out to the cab.
"Alright thanks, now head here." Sakari says, telling him the location of the hotel. He arrives within 10 minutes. "Okay, wait here again, please. I'll be back soon."
I run upstairs to Cambridge's room, and knock on the door. Though I only ran up the stairs and can usually run a lot longer before losing my breath, the journey up the stairs has left me winded, and my breathing is harsh, and shallow due to the wound. I make occasional wheezing noises because of it.

There is a knock on the door. Somehow I was expecting it and know who it is. I get out of bed and go to the door, I check the peep hole and open the door in a panic.
I pull Sakari inside.
"What's happened to you? Sakari..."
I am terrified by how he looks. He is covered in bandages.

Ivan leaves at once. He gets into his car and drives away. He doesn't know if he will see Sakari again. All he can think of right now is his escape.

Sakari manages to catch his breath, and asks, calmly.
"Tonight, will you come with me? I don't have time to explain, but there are some really bad people after me. I need a yes or a no right now." I ask, with a serious, authoritative tone of voice.

"I don't know...sure...I don't know, what's happening? Are you okay?"
I catch myself at it again. I am falling into this role once again. But this time it is important.
Cambridge grabs hir things in a panic. Sie puts on hir coat. Sie has no idea what is going on, but is afraid, and since Sakari is not joking around, this must be something very bad.

"Thank you, Cambridge..." Sakari says, feeling relieved. They both run back down to the taxi, and it drives off. The cab ride is long, and silent, and finally, they are dropped off in the outskirts of Moscow.
I pay the fair plus a nice tip, get out of the car, and we run down into the subway where we met the people who drove us to Chechnya.
"Hey Kolya. I need to get out of here, now." Sakari says, with urgency in his voice. "Ivan's higher ups didn't like me." "Jesus man, I'll give you a ride just to get the hell away from here." Kolya says, waving his hand. Two men come out of the shadows, and lead Sakari and Cambridge up to their van. They all drive off.
"Alright, this is what happened." I say, then tell Cambridge everything.

Cambridge has a hard time believing it. Sakari has a history of embellishing things and the story seems too unreal. Sie listens not sure what to believe. All sie knows is that whatever happened, Sakari was injurred badly and is now leaving the country. That is enough proof of the authenticity of most of the story.
"Sakari, I can't believe you did that. It's crazy, what were you thinking going on a drug run? You didn't honestly think you were dealing with good people did you?" Sie asks.
Sie sighs.
"But I am glad you're okay. You almost died. Please don't do these kinds of things any more."

The van stops at another private airport, probably used to run drugs too.
"Thanks you guys, I owe you." I say, patting one of them on the back. We get out, and get on the plane. Oh the wonders of underground trafficking... The engine warms up, and the plane takes to the sky.
"So where are we going?" "Brazil." Brazil? Sakari has no connections in Brazil... A feeling of apprehension washes over him. "Ah, right on... So we aren't trafficking any drugs, are we?" "Nope, weapons." The man casually explains. "Ah, that makes me feel much better..." Sakari says, making no effort to hide the sarcasm.

Hours Later
The plane lands outside Rio de Janiero. At this point Sakari and Cambridge are taken by car to the city. The car drops off Cambridge and Sakari in the center of the city late at night. The men who brought them there say goodbye, speed off in their car, and leave the socialists to attend to their own business of arms selling.
Cambridge is tired, confused, afraid, and shocked. Hir eyes are droopy and sie is so tired, that sie leans on Sakari without really caring about it.
"Now what?"

"I'm sure there's someone here who could let us hang with them... Like, a hotel or something..." Sakari says, looking up, and sees a hotel.
"Ah, speak of the devil!" I say, not realizing that they probably deliberately let us out here because it was across the street from a hotel.
The two head inside, and get a room. Sakari saved a good chunk of change that Ivan gave him, and it's now coming in handy. They get their room, which is a one bed room.
"I can take the floor." I say, feeling strange that I didn't actually bring anything with me, save a big wad of cash.

"I suppose you could."
"I don't think it really matters if we share. I mean, it's not like we are going to do anything. I used to travel with my brother and sometimes we would have to sleep together. We would do the feet to head thing just to make us more comfortable. I don't see why it mattered now that I think of it. So we slept in the same bed, oooh, as if it was borderline incest."
"Not that I see you as my brother or anything, I'm just saying that I have slept with lots of different people and it really doesn't matter. Sleeping is sleeping."

Sakari blinks.
"Ah, okay... We'll share the bed then." I say, sliding into bed before tossing my shirt onto the ground. I make a point not to do this until under the covers, seeing as how I'm covered in bandages.

Cambridge realizes that sie was a lot cooler about things in theory than in actuallity. Sie sits down on the bed. Sakari is under the covers and sie is not inclined to go under them as well.
"You know what, it's really hot, so I'll sleep on top of the covers. And since I always liked sleeping on the foot end of the bed, I will just sleep with my head down there and my feet towards the head of the bed. Yep."
Sie lays down on top of the covers, next to Sakari, her head to his feet. Sie takes off hir top, but is wearing a tank top under hir button up shirt. Sie decides to sleep in hir pants, since sie doesn't have any other clothes with hir.
"Well night Sakari, and don't worry, your feet don't smell too bad."
