(I do have other things to keep track of, thanks for reminding me.)
"Good. It appears that the Russians have already gone ahead and taken out one of the main extreminst groups that we were to paficy, so at the moment we have no assignment. You will probaly be meeting with the captain of the Russian team before long."

Li's secretary speed dials Larson's office secretary while she's still typing at the computer but using the hands-free headset. ((Kai's in a different country ))

"Hooah, Ma'am." I replied. "Is there anything we can do right now? Any way to help?" I ask, dissappointed that we were pulled out of the States to be told that we don't have an immediate assignmet.
"Rangers or Special Forces?" The sergeant asked. "Rangers are the taskforce, the brute of the SOCOM. SF are the units trained in unconventional warfare. Both are...elite." The sergeant smiled as he said 'elite'. He also twisted his torso to show on his left shoulder the 'Ranger' tab, which sat above another that read 'Airborne'.
((In order of precedence, as it may appear on the left shoulder))

"At the moment, no. However we should both familiarize ourselves with local equipment and customs. How's your Russian?" I ask.

I responded in Russian, with a smooth accent that was as if it was born and raised in urban Russia, "Oh, I think I'm a little rusty, but I think it will come back to me shortly. Yours?" Then I say in English, "Major, you know that SF must be fluently multilingual. Most of the team knows Russian. Some are still working on their accent."

"Ranger...I think that would be good," Kai said hoping not to have interupted their conversation.

"My question was a routine one. One cannot assume that all soldiers remember all of their training or courses, if they even paid attention to them in the first place. Now what's your specialty and how would you evaluate your team?" I ask. personally I speak 6 languages, including Russian, Spanish, French and Japanese. What I don't say is that my first language was actually Romanian, and not English...

((Usagi and Price are in Moscow, Russia. Kai is at Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, USA. Got it? I hoped that using different colors would help.))
"Among us, we know Chinese, Korean, Japanese, Russian, German, French, Norwiegean, Italian, Polish, Czech, Tagalog, Thai, Swahili, Bulgarian, Mongolian, Bavarian, Spanish, Indonesian, Kurdish, Cambodian, Cherokee, Navajo, Gaelic, Turkish, Vietnamese, Welsh, Arabic, Finnish, Hawaiian, Braille, ASL, and Klingon." I kept a straight face but laughed on the inside. A few of the other guys, however, couldn't help but snicker. "Alpha One is designed for all situations, all aspects of warfare, every tactic, and combat on any terrain. My Alpha Team is better than any SEAL, Force Recon, or AFSAR unit out there." "Hooah!" The rest of the men backed that statement up.
"Okay," He filled something out, "Do you have any physical ailments or disabilities?"

Ariel looks like she really could care less.
"Very well. You don't need help, I leave. Deal with Chechens on your own. I will go help the Japanese. At least they have manners. If Russia is hurt by Chechens, Israel does not care very much."
She shrugs.
"One would think with riot reports and rising amounts of attacks, you would want the help."

I smile warmly as he takes my hand.
"I am truly sorry Mr. Mahon, I've been so busy that I may have neglected to have them contact you. But since you are here now, I can do the interview. Perhaps there is somewhere more private we can go to do the interview without distraction."

She finally did it. She played the power card. If I don't kiss ass now, my CO will kill me.
I swallow hard. That lump in my throat was my pride.
"Ahem... I apologize. It's been a long day." I say, running my hand through my hair and looking around.
"I'm sure we'll all appreciate your help."

"Thank you. Now, do you have access to current anti-terror strategy? I will give you advice, and you will present to superiors and other soldiers," Ariel says in a very businesslike manner.

I have a lovely sleep and wake up fully refreshed. I put on a gray suit and head to a cafe for a bagel with iced skim milk. I watch the BBC in the small cafe and feel pleased with how my day is starting. The past few days have been tiresome, but I do believe I have finally overcome my jet lag. After enjoying my breakfast, I leave to join the convention of Greens. I spot Toivo and the others and join them, but this time say nothing. I know that the others already have a bad opinion of me, and today I am determined not to embarass by dear Tovio.

((I gotta head out for about an hour after this post))
"Yes ma'am." I reply, my mannerisms change back to my formal self. "The papers are in my room. Shall I retrieve them?" I say, standing up preemptively.
