"Hmm, I wonder what Cambridge is up to... I hope everything's okay, I promised hir I'd tag along for that anarchist convention in Helsinki."

Deirdre approaches the two men at the table and overhears 'anarchist convention', forgetting for the moment that she is their waitress.
"You know, we're not supposed to listen in on conversations, but did I hear you right when you said anarchist convention in Helsinki?" Deirdre asks, with hopeful enthusiasm.

"Oh yes, well there is an anarchist convention in Helsinki this week. Many political groups are organizing these days." Bassarov replies to her.

"Oh wow, I mean, I'm just wondering because I'm sort of an anarchist myself, haha." Deirdre giggles. "Oh I'm sorry, what can I get for you two?"

"I'll take a piece of apple pie, then I'll see what I'm up for. Hey, if you need a ride, I'm going with a friend." Sakari offers, having no inhibitions about asking a stranger since he feels a oneness with humanity right now.

"Wha...Sakari.....maybe it isn't a good idea to be so open to strangers... Bassarov whispers as quietly as he can.
He smiles at Deidre, but is uncomfortable with Sakari's openess.

"Oh that would be... Great!" Deirdre replies excitedly. She hasn't really had the opportunity to meet many other anarchists. It's spring break next week, though it may be hard to find someone to work for her
"I wouldn't want to be a burden, but if it's an invitation... Anyways, what would you like, sir?" She asks Bassarov. "Oh I forgot, I'm Deirdre and I'll be your waitress this evening." Deirdre smiles.

Sakari kicks Bassarov. "What are you talking about, she seems excited. I don't think she's going to mug us. And I think my good man here is going for the soup of the day." Sakari replies on behalf of Bassarov, in a Scottish accent mistaking it for an Irish one.

Bassarov glares at Sakari, but says nothing. He lives with the feeling that he is far more serious than most of the people he hangs out with.
"So you are an anarchist. We are socialists. We just had a convention a few days ago." Bassarov says to Deidre. He figures he should strike up a conversation about politics since that is always a good neutral conversation starter in his book...though it is usually offensive to others.

"Oh wow, I heard you guys got busted big time. I guess not, since you're here." Deirdre says writing down their orders.
"So what happened?"

"Yeah the national guard stormed in and arrested the leadership." Sakari says. He's tempted to add teargas and concussion grenades to the story, but decides to remain honest. It could after all be played on the news.

"Yes, it's a horrible deal. We don't even know what happened to the leaders, where they are being held, nothing. And the Western governments have done nothing." Bassarov adds.
"So we have no choice but to go on with things. Which is why we are here..." Bassarov trails off, not wanting to tell her the details of why they are in Ireland.
"So then, have you been to the anti war rally out there?"

"Well, I've had to work all day so no, but I'll be there tomorrow."
"Deirdre! There are other tables here!"
"Oh sorry, okay, so you wanted the soup of the day and you wanted some apple pie? I'll be right out with your orders. Hey, if it's not a big deal I'd love to come with you to the anarchist convention." Deirdre says cheerily. She leaves their tables and heads to the kitchen where the orders are read.

Once Deidre leaves, Bassarov turns to Sakari. "I think you have a responsibilty to the socialists to help out here. You are needed more than ever and shouldn't run off to some anarchist convention. I don't mean to scold you or tell you what to do, but going to that convention just doesn't seem sensible."

"Valodya, chill, I'm simply broadening my horizons. And if that's illegal, then lock me up with the other political prisoners." Sakari replies, brushing off what Bassarov said.
"We only have one life. Stop pretending that you don't know this."
