"I have a mobile phone, but I am not sure if they do. I don't know their numbers anyway. Sakari doesn't strike me as one to carry one."
"Oh well, should we just sit down and have something to eat instead. I am famished, and the hospital food was sub par."

"You are correct. At least I got a choice in the cafetiria. I can't imagine how bad it was for you... There isnt much point in looking for them anyway. I am sure they will get the job done. I would be worried if it was just Sakari, but Cambridge sets him strait. Im sure all will be well."
I turn to Bassarov.
"Now, Mr. Bassarov, about that food?"
I point over to what looks like a fairly nice resturant down about three blocks.

"That looks perfect. It will give us a chance to discuss important things or world events...or whatever..." Bassarov says as he walks towards the restuarant. They enter and are seated.
(Erich and others can come along as well, but I am going to post around them.)

"You now, Mr. Bassarov, I know very little about you. Only that you are in the 4th international. I think now would b ea good time to find out more about you, yes?"

"Okay then. I was born in Petrozadvodsk, which is a city in Karelia, not so far from the Finnish border. I attended school there and am studying political science in college. I am almost done, but had to put my schooling on hold to do political things for the party. I have a younger brother. I don't believe in monogamy or marriage. I am not seeing anyone but for my friend Selja who seems borderline obsessive sometimes. But she is a good girl. Hmm, what else..."
"Those are the main things. What about you?"

"Well, I haven't gone to college, school was never really my thing. I just broke up with my last girlfriend a month ago, right before leaving my parent to become a trotskyist. They are Socialist, but don't approve of my radicalism. Thats why I left. They still send me money, but I just return it to them. It is good to know that I could go back, but I won't. My place is here now.
Anyway, I'm an only child. I believe that we should not be comstricted wth social rules, but that laws are important. They protect us and stuff. But they shouldn't forfit individual rights. You know the speech. Anyway, yah."
I put my had down and back up, kinda flicking my hair.
"Oh, yah. I'm totaly obsesive about my hair. I don't know why. Thats really it."

"I can't think of anything I am obsessive about..." Bassarov says, he thinks for a moment and nothing comes to mind.
He orders a sandwhich and a diet coke.
"I think we will go to Germany next, since our comrades there may need help against the nazi threat." Bassarov says, changing the topic to politics.

"Man, dumb Nazis. What is their issue with us socialists, and almost everyone else for that matter? The party started as a Socialist party you know, but no one really knows that because the first man who came to power turned it into a facist party. Man..."
I really hate people like facists and nazis. Bad people in general don't sit too well with me.
"If you will have me along, I'll go with you. Unless Sakari and Cambridge decide on a more exiting adventure. Either way, I hope I can pick up a chick. "
I chuckle. Wierd to be only thinking about girls, but not wierd for me.
"I have had way to much adventure lately. I remember when I used to just sit in bars and waste my life. I like this stuff a lot better."

"I am not sure where they are going, but I assume they are going to Germany as well."
"Well good luck with that. I could always introduce you to Selja. She needs someone to distract her from me."

"Haha. No thanks. I think I would feel a bit awkward, you understand. Im sure I'll find a chick eventualy. I really was just joking."
I chuckle to myself.
"Its odd. Its uasualy the dumb, blonde ones that go for me, too. There was this one dumb brunette. But, I found out later that her hair was dyed. And of course, she was naturaly blonde."
I laugh. Its funny, but its true.
"Maybe its cause im not the brightest myself, but who knows?"
The waiter comes over and I order an Iced Tea.
"How'd you meet Selja then? Is she a socialist too? She must be. It would be so wierd to date someone that has totaly different beliefs. Like, It would be totaly impossible for me to date, say, a capitalist. But if I did, you can bet she'd be dumb. And most likely controling. Most of my girlfreinds are."

"We aren't dating. Just friends who have some of the physical aspects of a relationship. She is not a socialist, but she is willing to follow me around wherever I go. It is flattering, but I need space. That is one of the reasons I was so dead set on going to Chechnya. I would like to find someone else for her so that she doesn't have to obsess over me. But she is a very nice...we met in college."

"Ahhh, college. Again, never went. I'm sure I missed out, as my parents tell me. In more detail than I would ever want to know. Its cool when your parents are like your freinds, but not cool when they talk to you like freinds..."
I shudder
"Awful. Anyway, its nice that you have someone that truely cares about you. That is one thing I hope to find in life; ten freinds who truely care about me, boys or girls. Thats my goal. And, of course, to go to an all you can eat buffet and eat more than the fat guys. And to ride a roler coaster so much that I vomit. I was close to the last two, but I didnt make it. I will though. Mark my words.
"What are your goals, Mr. Bassarov?"

Bassarov laughs.
"I would like to be a good socialist, who does a lot for my party. I would also like to be a professor." He replies.
"The ten friends is a good goal. Maybe I should adopt something similar."

"Professor, that cool. Maybe you can teach me stuff. Anything would be an improvment."
I take a long look at Bassarov
"Im sure in time you will have more friends than you will be able to deal with. Remember that I said this first. And give me a cookie when im right. If by the time you die or I did you haven't I'll give you a cookie. Deal?"

"Sure. Well if ever you have any questions about socialism or politics, I have done enough reading and think I know a fair amount. So you only need to ask."
"And what kind of cookie would you like?"
