2. Impetus of a nonphysical process, such as an idea or a course of events: The soaring rise in interest rates finally appeared to be losing momentum.

"This has all been very informative, but I think I am ready to head back to the surface." I say to Harold.

So far I have remained quiet as I observe the largely automated mining operation. I continue to remain that way.

"Hey where do you guys go to the bathroom down here? I could really use the WC..." Sakari says, with all the running water.

"Okay." I say as I turn around and drive us back to the elevator. We climb back aboard. "So do any of you have any questions?"
I say to Sakari "The nearest restroom at this point is on the surface. Sorry."

"I think I asked all of my questions." I reply, then look to the others to see if they have any.

"I have no questions." I state. By now I am itching for a cigarette, and just want to satiate my addiction.

After everything with the two convicts is over, Alejos is glad to hear he gets to use his one phone call. Since Soledad isn't here anymore, and nobody knows he's in prison, he decides to call Bassarov.
"Please pick up," he pleads as the phone rings.

"Ah, that's a bummer... So like... I guess my question is how do people... 'go', down here? Do they have to go all the way up, or do they like... Go in an area that they know will be collapsed?" Sakari says, somewhat stupidly.
"It sounds kinda scary and dangerous down here... The workers get paid lots, right?" I say, 'lots' being a relative term.

"Okay then." I say as we arrive at the surface, and point Sakari towards the restroom. "Now since you are socialists I assume you are interested in some details about our labor agreements, correct?"
Before Sakari leaves I say "No there are restrooms down there, they are close to the peliminary mine-face and the processing areas."

Bassarov returns to his hotel room just in time to hear the phone ring. He picks up, wondering who it could be. "Hello?"

"Sure, you can tell us about that. It would be interesting."
I take off my dust mask and am glad to have fresh air when we arrive at the surface.
