A career in composites industry is considered by many as something that requires one to spend all of their time laying up fiberglass but it is not necessarily so always. If you are a person who wishes to work with composites, you have a choice of industries and positions to choose from. Today, many companies require composites experts and if you go through the listings on employers’ page on career platforms in internet, you will understand it. As far as the manufacturers are concerned, they build structures or components out of composite materials. Though many of them build products for outside customers, in some cases they also sell their own products. There are several companies that offer manufacturing services only which means only build to print works, but many other companies also offer design and engineering services. Materials companies also require experts and they people manufacture raw materials such as fibers and polymers but there is only a limited number of materials companies. There are a large number of companies that formulate polymers into resin systems and prepare resins with fibers. These companies sell composites directly to end users sometimes but mostly they are sold through distribution companies. Although there are many companies that use composites in their products, these companies are usually not considered as Composites Company. This could be explained through an example such that aerospace companies make use of composites in aircraft but their primary business is never composites. Other products where composites are made in to use in constriction include products like sporting goods, boats, and medical equipments.
