"Well just not today at least. I'm not sure how they'd take it... I mean you were married at least." I say. I look at Cambridge and wonder what sie's thinking about, and look back to my sister. "Yeah I don't need Vossya..."

I am moving out to the communal farm this week. You two should come and stay out there. It will be nice. There are some folk musicians staying there so we'll never be bored.

"Well meeting a nice girl is a big part of it... The only girl I've ever really talked to... well she doesn't want a family..." I don't even think of the question in a political context, the personal one is that much more important to me.

I turn to Cambridge, not knowing what to answer. Sie is obviously the dominant one in our developing relationship...

"That might be interesting. I toured a Kibbutz and thought that lifestyle might be nice." Cambridge replies to Sofia. Sie can see how Selja and Sofia are very different.

"Yeah that sounds good." I say now that I've heard Cambridge's answer. "You know I like a simple approach to life, all these 'conveniances' just take life away from us."

"I am afraid that I don't know many women, or that if I do, I only know them on a professional basis." Niilo replies. He thinks for a moment longer. "If you like this girl, then perhaps you could change her mind. People do change their minds with the proper persuasion."

Oh, I totally agree. Society eats our souls. We need to go back to the simpler ways of living and back to our Mother. We are a sick people and we need our Mother's nourishment.

Well, we kind of had a... disagreement. Right now I'd be more than content to be just friends with her again..." I explain.

"So you're pretty big into that environmental stuff I take it. Cool, whatever floats your boat I guess. I am in the SWM. I am a socialist. Not a Leninist or Trotskyist. Just a plain old Marxist." Cambridge explains to Sofia.
"You are in the Green Party?"

"Well we have to do some work for ourselves. It's just more satisfying to make something yourself, and homemade food tastes better than that shit they have in resteraunts... Even if I don't cook."

Niilo is bored talking about relationships with Tom and finds it all a bit pitiful and trite. He nods and pays attention the best that he can, but really is more concerned about how Tom might be of use to him.
"Too bad. I am sure things will work out with time. All things work out with time."

"Wonderful. Maybe his policies don't reflect poorly on capitalism, but accurately." Sakari replies.
"And you say 'free love' like it's something bad... No, I don't have a girlfriend. I had my eyes on someone, but ah... I kinda..." I scratch my head.
"Ah nevermind, it's nothing."

Look at the time, I'm late for yoga. And yes, I am a member of the Green Party.
I turn to Selja.
I've got to get to yoga classes but you two can stay in my apartment or whatever. I'll call you once I move to the commune and try to get things set up for your arrival.
