The meek shall inherit nothing. Russia was a thousand times better off under Lenin than it was under Kerensky's regime. The moderate "socialist" Menshiviks and Socialist Revolutionaries supported the disbanding of the soviets, allowed Kornilov to attempt a coup, continued the war, and did nothing to stop Cossacks from murdering peasants. Safe indeed.

"The wrongs of moderate socialists during the Russian revolution don't really concern me. I do not support the Russian revolution nor do I support the Soviet Union, China, Cuba, or any state born out of revolutionary socialism. And even if things were better under Lenin and maybe there were a few golden years of socialism, but I think that is overshadowed by dictatorship, shortages, purges, and an environment of fear which followed."
"I think the gains of all of Western Europe due to moderate socialist policies speak for themselves."
"But really, I know you mean well. If I believed that socialism was possible through revolution I would fight along with you in an instant. But I am very very afraid of revolution and the terrible changes which could stem from it. Socialist revolution does not have the best track record in my opinion."

*I am going to have to leave for the night princess. However I will be back tomorrow sometime. I will see you then.*
"Lucky for me I am already packed."
I yell to the maids and servants.
"Load up our things into the limo. We are going to the airport."
I seem a bit put off. I wanted a chance to catch up and perhaps take Alek's mind off of this Lysander guy.
"Ok I am sure I can get my personal doctor to meet us at the airport. He travels with me incase I get sick. He will give us the vaccine in the plane before we take off. I will have one of my guys who conveniently has been working over there to put the virus in the hotel. Germ warfare is one of our favorites so we usually come prepared just incase. I will have them plant it as we get ready to leave. By the time you're burgandy suede pradas hit the soil, they will already be infected. How does that sound princess?"
To me I always pictured her as wealth royalty, so why not indulge her with it. Maybe it will help cheer her up. All of a sudden she looks so sad.
"I have the best chocolates and champagne onboard also some strawberries and cream along with various other edible yummies. I hope it is satisfactory for you to indulge yourself."
I offer her my arm as we head to the limo.

It is so odd that he has everything all planned out. All I have to do is go along with things and let him think. Maybe this is just what I need. After my ordeal with Chechen terrorists, the breakup with my boyfriend, and the death of my parents, I need someone who will just take care of things for me.
Oh Harper, I don't know what to say. It's been so long since anyone was this nice to me and did all these things for me. I have had a rough several months.
I take his arm and head inside his limo.
You're like a dream come true, Harper.

I look at my watch, lean back in my seat and rub my eyes wearily. It has been a long day... I fold up my computer, set it in the seat beside me, and reach into my pockets to empty them out, preparing myself to sleep in the car when I pull out my cell phone. I remember that I need to call Heikki... I pull my seat all the way back to a laying down position, and dial Heikki's number, resting my head on the seat.

Heikki was alone in his room. That old red phone from his mom's house starts ringing. It is a rotary phone and one of the few momentos from his childhood home. He stares at it, contemplating whether he will pick up or not. Finally, he snatches it, but assumes it is a telemarketer or bill collector.
"I'm here." He says into the phone.

"Hey is Heikki around?" I ask into the phone. I'm not quite sure what Zivon sounds like, and I hope he wasn't the one who answered. I don't like taking chances on such a thing, either...

"This is Heikki. But I can't blame you for not remembering my voice." Heikki replies to Shura. He recognizes Shura's voice and feels upset that he did not recognize his. "How have you been?"

"Oh sorry Heikki, I just... Am really uncomfortable about your roommate... I didn't want him to get all mad at me or anything." I reply somewhat defensively. I roll onto my side and curl my jacket over my body.
"How have you been?"

"He doesn't get mad. He is above anger." Heikki responds.
"I have traveled all over but gone nowhere. I am the same." He says. He twirls the red phone chord around his finger and goes to sit on his bed.
"You don't have to call me. I don't need your pity. If if makes you happier, maybe you should just forget that I exist."

"Well ah... You called me..." I reply.
"I've been busy working, sorry I haven't been able to return your calls... Maybe you just need a different place to return home to. Maybe it's your home life that's oppressing you. You can re arrange the furniture in your house all you want but it's not going to change the fact that you live next to an airport." I reply.

"I did call you, but that was a few days ago. I figured that you wouldn't return the call and had accepted that." Heikki replies.
"I am fine. Really. I am fine." He insists.
"Anything new?"

"Actually yeah, Salome and I are now an official couple." I say cheerily.
"You remember Salome, right?"

"Yes, she was just one of those people I foolishly felt attracted to. But don't worry I am over it. I have come to accept that I was made to be alone." Heikki replies cooly. "I hope you are both live happily ever after in your anarchist commune or whatever it is you do."

"Thanks." I reply, my tiredness making me oblivious to the full weight of the situation.
"Hey you should come stay with us. We have lots of extra guest rooms, and I'm sure it'd be good to get away from Zivon for awhile." I suggest.
