"Then it isn't wrong when I dress like a vampire and it isn't Halloween. Right? Maybe you need to think things through before you insult people. Not that I care about your insults, but...you know what I mean."

septimus has been lying low for the past few days, until his contact lets him know that heikki has been looking for him. he walks through the streets of moscow, carrying his signature black cloud over his head as he eventually finds heikki, talking to someone.
"we should talk." he says to heikki, ignoring the woman and balancing the lit cigarette off of his lips.

"I don't like when people try to dress up and be different when they are all the same inside. I hate the stupid little highschool cliques of people trying so hard to be something different externally, but then feed their minds on the rott of popculture."
Heikki crosses his arms and examines the vampire looking woman. He was apparently mistaken about her, but since he doesn't believe in appologies, does not say this.
"My name is Heikki Toivonen. I'm a Finnish nihilist. Who are you?"
Heikki turns to Septimus.
"Fine, let's talk."

I'm Nobody! Who are you? Are you--Nobody--Too? Then there's a pair of us? Don't tell! they'd advertise--you know!
How dreary--to be--Somebody! How public--like a Frog-- To tell one's name--the livelong June-- To an admiring Bog!

"I really hate poetry. I am Dariya, a dadaist poet. Sometimes I tolerate Emily Dickinson."

"I hate poetry as well." Heikki replies. Dariya is strange, but at least she isn't like the majority of people in society. For now, he will ignore her and turn his attention to Septimus.

"cute." septimus replies to dariya on behalf of heikki. septimus grabs heikki by the elbow, and begins to walk down the street.
"don't think i don't trust you because i don't understand you, i understand you, and therefore, don't trust you." septimus says, without making eye contact. he has been increasingly paranoid lately.

I watch both men leave with each other and head back to my apartment. That is that.
I would have liked to talk to Heikki longer, but it doesn't matter. I really don't care about anyone, even other nihilists.

"I just want to destroy and not be hastled about it. Is it such a big deal? I don't care about religion or nationalism. I just don't care. But, as long as I am working with you, destroying things, what I think really doesn't matter, does it? In fact, no one's thoughts matter so long as they are kept inside. You best friends could all hate you. You never know about these things. Thoughts don't matter. Actions do." Heikki explains to Septimus.

"without thoughts, there would be no actions." septimus replies. "while you've been faithful this far, if you were captured by the russians, you wouldn't hesitate to turn us in. the others may hate me, but they're not turncoats."

"Quite." I reply to him. "Blind loyalty is a rare thing in these times... Unfortunately. Too many people expect money or some silver lining of hope for their services."

I drive into town just as the fuel light on my dashboard comes on. Gas prices have been rediculous lately, but when one must travel one must pay what the oil companies say to pay. But I am here to visit Bassarov, not bitch about the gas prices. And if I know Bassarov he is probaly talking about changing the world or something else equally impossible, so I pull into a space at his college and walk in. Sure enough I find him in a heated debate about socialisim, so I lean on the door frame and wait for him to finish.

as heikki breaks away, septimus continues walking forward. he turns into an alley, steps over the homeless who are crowding it, and pulls out his cell phone. he dials a number.
"yeah it's what i told you, the car is red, not blue." "Alright alright, we'll just have to find something else, then... *click*"
septimus closes his phone, reaching the end of the alley, and continues to walk through the streets of moscow.

Heikki takes a long walk around the city to consider what he should do.

Bassarov is a little surprised to see one of his classmates is at the meeting. How she found him in Moscow he has no idea. He leaves the other socialists to talk to her for a moment.
"I'm not sure that you should have come here. But, as long as you are here I suppose you can sit in on the meeting."
