"We'll have to take a look into it... Perhaps you'd be interested in working for the Department of Defense again. We don't expect to get your services for cheap, but we do hope you choose to cooperate." I state.

"Been there, done that. Besides, I think I do more good out here. Of course, I do a little moonlighting on the side. If you ever need a hand or something, give me a call. I mean really, what good is a man who won't fight for his country?" He chuckles and tosses away his cigarette, "That was fun messing with the socialists. Those guys are so easy to piss off."

"Humans are social creatures. We need each other to survive. That is why we come together in groups. Individual survival requires a group mindset. No matter how selfish you are, at some point you will see that you are not estranged from the fate of the millions of people who suffer today. You breathe this polluted air. You live under the threat of war and terrorism. You live under the threat of the epidemics which decimate the populations of poor people without health care. Even capitalists can not escape the plagues capitalism."

"We are no so different really, I am a humanist myself Mr.Bassarov, I am a human and I care greatly about myself; therefore I am a humanist.
I just also happen to be a realist, something which you are definately not. The air in my many houses is filtered before it reaches my lungs. I can pay for security and buy a million bomb shelters. I have the worlds greatest doctors at my becon call, and aside from these little side trips I rarely have contact with the poor as it is."
I say some what assured by the statement myself.
"So you are wrong, with enough money one can escape anything."

"We will see. Maybe you have done well to escape it so far, but the world's problems will become inescapable. Revolution is the ultimate expression of this." Bassarov replies.
"But really, I know we won't agree, so why throw pearls to the capitalist swine? Let's talk about something else. What brings you here to Moscow and what do you do? I haven't seen you on television before nor read about you in the papers, so I assume you are not a politician or CEO."

I laugh a bit.
"No, not a politician or a CEO, I am far worse Mr. Bassarov. I am a lawyer. I protect politicians and CEO's from people such as yourself. I co-own a very successful firm, we are opening up a branch here in Moscow you see."

"That's interesting. I am just a student at the moment. That job must be increasingly difficult."

"Not for me. I am good at justifying things, my clients are well taken care of. As am I. So what do you study?"
I ask keeping my tone a level bellow friendly at all times and drinking the last of my poorly made Russian coffee.

"Political Science...as you might have been able to guess." Bassarov replies. He is not unfriendly and doesn't mind talking to capitalists from time to time.

"I don't guess. So what do you plan to do with your life Valodya? The world has enough politicians don't you think, and I don't work for communists. You would be fighting your own legal battles then."
I smile and as a habit glance at my watch, I rarely have time to just talk. Esspecially to people such as this. How very comfort-zone crossing of me.

"I would like to be a professor. You would be amazed how many socialist professors there are in the world. I guess that is one of the only jobs where we can put our knowledge to use...until after the revolution..."
Bassarov drinks some of his coffee.
"I enjoy teaching and learning, so, it is a good profession for me."

"That is a less than comforting thought. Having the worlds children being educated by the enemy, it's like a re-corruption. Maybe you could be a librarian instead. It's a nice dream don't get me wrong, though I'm afraid you wouldn't earn very much. Shame really."

I turn towards her and shrug alittle. "if your sure it isnt a problem then I guess so...."
I look around then back at her. "need any help?"

Bassarov frowns.
"I don't care how much money I have. I desire less material possessions not more. And I am not interested in being a librarian." He says with a suddenly glum look.
