"So why aren't you in your party anymore? " I ask Sakari, trying not to be nosey.

Heikki bows his head and looks at the floor. He grabs the phone and takes it to his room, since he is uncomfortable talking to Shura in front of Zivon.
"What is it?" Heikki asks in a depressed voice.

"Ah no reason really, just some bad luck on my behalf." Sakari says, after taking a bite out of his scone.
"I just needed some personal time, you know, I guess I'm in the market for a new party." I state, somewhat apathetically.
"You guys are pretty similar to us, aren't you?"

"Oh hey, ah, sorry to bug you, but Salome was thinking of moving back to France, and I need another job. The prospects here aren't that great... You want to head to France and live in a commune with some anarchists?" I ask Heikki.

"Yes, we are. If you are looking for a party, why don't you travel with me a little. I am going to that mine tour in a few days, then to Congo by the end of the week."
"You can test us out."
"But there is no obligation to joining nor are there any requirements. Just that you pay your dues."

"I would like a change. I'll have to talk it over with Zivon though. I don't want him to feel bad if I just up and leave." Heikki says with the illusion that Zivon would feel bad about something.

Sakari nods his head, excited about the prospect of joining another, looser socialist organization.
"Yeah that sounds great..." I say, imagining my finances in my head. They don't look that great for the time being, but that can be figured out later.
"I don't speak, ah... Congolese..?"

"Sure..." I reply. "Maybe you should imply that he should find another place to stay at least until you come back." I suggest to empower Heikki.

"They speak French and Kingwana" I reply.
"But I am sure you can get by."
"This is wonderful. It will be nice to have someone to travel with."

"He can stay here...in case things don't work out." Heikki replies with his typical pessimism.
"Talk to you later then." Heikki says, then hangs up the phone quickly. He walks back into the living room and puts the phone back. He sits on the couch, some distance from Zivon.
"I'm thinking of moving."

"Right on, I'd love to learn that intimidating African sounding language." Sakari replies.
"Where's this mine by the way?"

"I will have to check the email again since I don't remember."
My tea comes and I sip it.
"Tell me a little about yourself, Sakari, now that we will be traveling together."

Sakari nods his head, and takes another bite of his scone.
"Sure sure." I say, nodding my head. I always have a hard time with these kinds of questions, and it usually ends up with me just throwing in a bunch of random details about myself that don't really seem to go together.
"I grew up in Finland, and moved to the states at a pretty young age, since my father lived here. I've moved back and forth between here and Finland. I like cats, and play poker professionally. Sometimes." Sakari says, scratching his head, as though he were trying to dig up something he missed.
"What about you? Oh, did I mention I have a couple of cats?"

"Oh." Zivon replies, and sits quietly for a few moments. Heikki's statement doesn't really sink in.
"Dariya and I will take care of the place while you're gone." I say, my eyes transfixed on the TV.
