"Well, I could have some words with him. What he's doing is unfair to you. I personally can't stand it when women are mistreated."
"You should demand more."

"I don't really feel mistreated, just ignored. I suppose I could talk to him about it... But I feel uncomfortable and demanding when I do..."

"You would do that?" Bassarov asks Sakari. "I mean, really?" He asks again sitting up a little taller.
"She wouldn't buy it. For one, I am too interested in women, and for another thing, you are too goofy to be taken seriously as my lover." He says in a defeated tone.
"But thanks for the offer. You're a good friend. "

"I will let you handle this. You know best."
"So let's talk about something else. Tell me about yourself."

"Well I'm an electronics major, I just graduated from college a few weeks ago, and I've been travelling with Vossya ever since. I have a sister, but she is a lot different from me. She's a member of the Green Party, and a fruititarian... Personally I think that's just silly." I say, glad she changed the subject.

"Are you Russian as well?" I ask.
I am glad to be talking about something more neutral.

"Aye, aye..." Sakari replies, his hands now folded behind his head.
"Well that's a bummer... Well, are you feeling adventurous?" I ask, tilting my head to face him.

"No, I'm Finnish but I had planned to work in Russia, that's actually how I met Vossya. I studied for three years in the University of Helsinki, and a year in Russia to learn the language."

"I have never been to Russia or to Finland. Do you like it there?"

"Yes, it's great country. I just wish things'd calm down there. My dad and I used to go hunting in the woods a few miles from my house, I wish I could do that again." I am starting to feel a lot better now that I'm not talking about my love life.

Bassarov is a little startled by the question. "Well, if you are asking me to go mountain climbing, then no."
"But..if you are asking me to say, kiss you or something, then maybe..." He replies. He can't help but feel a little nervous. Sakari usually isn't like this. Actually, Sakari is never like this. He isn't sure what to make of the situation, though maybe the idea of a closer relationship with his friend has crossed his mind before.

"Oh, you like to hunt? I don't think I have met many girls who likes to hunt. What do you normally go hunting for?"

"I was thinking about going hiking..." Sakari says, and looks down.
"But making out sounds more fun, practical, and worthwhile." I say, then sit up next to Valodya again.

"I've gone after squirrells and moose on a regular basis. My dad never had a son, and he wanted at least one of us to learn to be an outdoorsman. My sister obviously wasn't interested, since she won't even eat meat. I decided to try when I was 14, and I liked it ever since."
