"No, I'm fine for now, but thanks for your concern, Comrade. I'm thinking about heading to Russia for the time being. Easier to hide there, y'know," Alejos responded, kicking back and turning on the TV. It was fun to watch the Twilight Zone in Spanish.

He gets up off the bed as if it is a huge effort and gets the door for his sister. He lays back down and stares at the ceiling. "Hello sister, Kolov wants to speak to you. He wants to know what you've been up to for the past few days."
"I personally could care less, but I have a job to do."

"Be careful. Most of your socialist friends there fled the country and many members of the ISP were arrested or killed. This is no light matter. Also, the flu epidemic has shut down the boarder. You will be hard pressed to find a ride out of the country, Alejos." Niilo says with agitation.

"I've been off trying to organize our own part on the war on terror instead of pushing old Vlad's bullshit around the world." I say bluntly to him. "And just to make sure, what would you know about it anyways?" I don't want to be rude to him, as he is my twin brother, but he is always like this...

"I know. Fortunately I had my Flu vaccine this year. As for how to get across the border, I'll just smuggle myself across somehow. There are some weak spots that Enrique will show me a bit later. He's not a Socialist, but we were talking about leaving the country."

"I will inform Kolov of your sentiments towards him." Seiji says, this time sitting up. "And I know plenty of what goes on. More than you. Don't confuse apathy with ignorance."

"Good luck to you then. And if you are wondering, I sent Soledad to Congo. She is working with Jose there. I worry about their safety there. I believe that they are being hunted by mercenaries." Niilo says, a little more at ease now that he knows that Alejos has an actual plan to get out of the country. He starts organizing things on his desk.

"Kolov knows what I think of him. I've been busy lately, and I think that saving people's lives is more important than trying to push politics. Don't you?"

"In the long view, to save a life is to postpone a death. I don't believe in life saving. I believe in arramging for death's circumstances. And no, I don't think that is overly important. Nor is pushing politics, since all political beliefs are flawed. I would conclude that saving lives and pushing politics are both equall unimportant."
"Doing what you're told is only logical, if you want to arrange your death further into the future."

"WHAT," Alejos gasped. However, since he gasped while sipping coffee, what came out was more of a "WCoughHACKSPLATTERCoughGAGt!"

"We're not talking about my life here. If I was concerned about prolonging my life I'd give up smoking and get a job as a seamstress." I say in an angry tone. "I still follow orders without question, but I have a moral compass. I think it's time you get one too." I sigh and lean against the door frame.

"Someone needed to go. Things are thus far safer in Congo than in Venezuela, though both situations are worrisome."
"My wife Akka has arrived in Brazil. It is nice to have extra help." He says, changing the topic.

"Why would I need them, when there are ample moral compasses in this world. I can simply watch what the rest of you idiots do and laugh. Or, if something on someone's moral compass interests me enough, I might try that."
"When morals are relative, the world is like a shop for compasses." He says, this time with a smirk.
"So, I do have a compass. I have about...300 compasses, maybe more. I can pick and choose or just reject them all."

"Hunted by mercenaries," Alejos got out horsely after the coughing fit died. "What part of the congo are they in? How much time do I have before they're captured? What kind of weapons do the mercenaries have?! Talk to me!!"

I shake my head. "Okay, say you had a chance to save someone else's life, say an injured woman or a child, would you do it if it meant risking your own death? Or what about something more intangable, like someone attacking your very way of life. Wouldn't you do something about it?"
